TOP 10 COMMON TECHNOLOGY MYTHS,myths about technology

Gadgets are everywhere and we are surrounded by it so much that at every morning we open our eyes and probably see a gadget first. Most of us are not aware how it works which creates a myth about it. So, in this article I will talk about top 10 common technology myths.

1.   INCOGNITO MODE MAKE YOU INVISIBLE

TOP 10 COMMON TECHNOLOGY MYTHS,myths about technology

Almost all web browser offer incognito mode and we assume that it creates an invisible barrier like thing between us and outer world.

The reality is very different. Incognito mode increases privacy and security because the browser history is not saved in this mode. In addition, cookies created in this mode are automatically deleted when the window is closed. However, incognito mode does not completely prevent a computer from being tracked. Still information can be tracked by the website you open in incognito mode.

Your internet service provider can also track the pages you visit while in incognito mode. This mode also does not protect the device from viruses and other harmful programs.

2.   LEAVING YOUR PHONE PLUG IN DESTROY THE BATTERY

Modern smartphones are operated with lithium-ion batteries and are so advanced that the charging process is interrupted when the battery is fully charged. There is no real risk of damaging the battery if you leave it connected after a 100% charge. But even when the battery is fully charged, the charger draws a small amount of electricity. Unplugging the phone when it is fully charged will save you a little money.

3.   HIGH PIXELS MEANS BETTER QUALITY PHOTO

TOP 10 COMMON TECHNOLOGY MYTHS,myths about technology

A new phone is launched every month that claims to have a better camera because it contains an increased number of megapixels. However, it can often happen that a 5-megapixel camera delivers better photos than a 12-megapixel camera.

This is because the number of megapixels alone does not guarantee increased photographic performance. The formula for fantastic photos must take into account the entire camera module, including the size and material of the main camera lens, light sensor, image processing hardware and software that connects everything together.

4.   NOT SAFELY REMOVING THE USB ,WILL ERASE THE DATA

When we disconnect a USB device from a computer, it is recommended to always click "Safely Remove Hardware" before removing the device. It has long been believed that if you don't, the data will be damaged. In fact, this only results in corrupted data when reading a file or writing to or from USB. If there is no action or exchange between the device and USB, you can simply remove the USB device from the computer without clicking the Safely Remove Hardware option.

5.   MORE BAR MEANS BETTER SERVICE

The bars indicate the signal strength, not the quality of the service available. When many people call or go online in the same area, the service may be slow, or unavailable. You may have seen this in a mall where there may be a lot of signal but many people are using their phones.

6.   REFRESH THE DESKTOP WILL INCREASE THE SPEED

To make our computer work faster, we often right-click and refresh the blank area on the desktop screen. In fact, updating the desktop makes no difference unless the icons and their paths are changed. Basically, updating the desktop is not necessary to increase the speed of the computer.

7.   DON’T RECHARGE BATTERY UNTIL THEY ARE ALMOST DEAD

TOP 10 COMMON TECHNOLOGY MYTHS,myths about technology

It was once common that batteries lose their ability to retain an electrical charge if they are charged before being discharged to 0. This applies to nickel-cadmiumbatteries, but not to today's lithium-ion batteries. It is actually best to keep the device between 40 and 80% charged. This means that it will not discharge to 0% (be sure to read the device manual). It’s better to charge before it discharges to 0, if all resources are present.

8.   BUY THE WARRANTY ON ANY NEW GADGETS YOU BUY

Not all guarantees are the same, and some are cheaper than others. In many cases, a guarantee can cost more than the value it offers. This is because various restrictions limit coverage. If you want to get warranty coverage, you may have to pay for shipping, fill out lots of documents, and then wait 8-10 weeks for the manufacturer to fix the problem.

The next time you make an expensive technical purchase instead of buying the warranty, ask the seller about the return policy. You can often return a product without question within 30 days. This is very convenient when you come home and find that your purchase doesn't suit you. In some stores, you can even exchange or receive credit without a receipt.

9.    PASSWORD PROTECTED NETWORKS ARE    SAFER

we can assume that no network is fully protected from hackers and their different variety of cracking tools. Even very strong passwords can possibly be cracked. Wi-Fi has become so common that people routinely access the internet and their emails in airports, hotels, restaurants, and even planes and trains, all of which can be penetrated by a hacker.

You can improve your protection by encrypting the data on your computer and using very secure passwords with uppercase and lowercase letters and a variety of symbols, none of which should resemble a word. The only way to fully protect bank, and social security numbers is to never enter them online.

Also note that some hacks can block access to your computer. This is a good reason to keep a backup of everything on removable media in a separate location.

10.   MORE RAM MEANS MORE SPEED

TOP 10 COMMON TECHNOLOGY MYTHS,myths about technology

People think that if you add more and more RAM to your computer, it will one day become a supercomputer. However, in practical applications.
RAM is memory that is faster than the hard drive. Therefore, the data to be used by the processor is copied into the RAM. If you have limited memory, the data must be exchanged between the hard disk and the memory. Adding some extra juice has its advantages, but the speed only depends on the processor and the type of RAM used.
