1.  HIGHLIGHTING MESSAGES

One of the best handy features, which I am sure most of you are not aware of this.
In order to highlight any message, we can make it
Bold text: Put asterisk sign (*) at beginning and ending of desired word or sentence. let’s say you want to bold word happy then type *happy*.
Italics text: Put underscore sign (_) at beginning and ending of desired word or sentence. Let’s say you want to italics word happy then type _happy_.
Strike through text: Put tilde sign (~) at beginning and ending of your desired word. Let’s say you want Strike through text happy then type ~happy~.


2.  SENDING GROUP MESSAGE WITHOUT FORMING GROUP

Sometimes you want to broadcast a message to selected people and which should land to their direct chat, this is the best option, no need to create group every time. Just open Whatsapp->three-dot Menu->New Broadcast, add people by taping on their profile and send the message.


3.  HOW TO UNDERSTAND YOU ARE BLOCKED

When ever you are blocked by someone, you can know by some observations
  1. Not able to see their profile picture.
  2. When you send the message, it will tick once (Message is sent) but not twice (message is delivered).
  3. If you can’t able to add that person while creating a new group chat.
  4. If you are not able to see their last seen online.

Remember these observations don’t guarantee that you are block, maybe contact had changed their visibility setting.


4.  MAKING VOICE MESSAGE MUTE

When we are in public places, we don’t want to make every one listens our voice message (when not carrying earphones or headphones), then this feature come into play. Simply hold the phone to your ears and will change the loudspeaker mode to inner speaker. So only you can hear the message.


5.  FINDING IMPORTANT MESSAGE QUICKLY

If you spend hours in searching a particular message then this feature is made for you. Choose the important message and star it for quick search. You can easily find in starred message option in three-dot Menu.


6.  USE LIVE LOCATION TRACKING

Whatsapp has roll out their feature of live location just like google maps. You can share your live location with anyone you want. Just open their chat->attachment option->location->Share live location->set time duration, also you can add any comment.


7.  SAVING STORAGE FROM AUTO DOWNLOADING

One of the favorite tricks is to save memory. By default, Whatsapp save all your media you received. This increase your memory storage and you won’t miss installing new apps. By applying this setting, you will receive the new notification but you have to tap on the file to actually download it. For this open Whatsapp->Three-Dot Menu->Settings->Data and Storage usage->When using mobile data.

You can unchecked audio, videos, documents as they require large data.


8.  LEARN THAT SOMEONE ELSE READ YOU MESSAGE

This trick will help you know, if someone is watching on your activity or not. Open Whatsapp->Three-Dot Menu->WhatsApp Web->if it shows connect to web.whatsapp.com and scan the QR code then its good. But if you see list of open connections (computer tab) and which has nothing to do with your activity. Then someone else is reading your message.


9.  ACTIVATE TWO STEP VERIFICATION

When you change your device Whatsapp by default ask your number and one-time pin for verification. For more security we can enable two step verification.By enabling this you need to create 6 digit pin and enter email address in event you forgot your pin .From now on whenever you change your device you need to enter pin .Open Whatsapp->three dot menu->Settings->Privacy->Two- Step Verification.


10.  DISABLE READ RECEIPTS

When you see blue tick icon it simply means that person has seen or read your message. But for some reason you don’t want that sender should know when you read their message. Whatsapp allow this feature open Whatsapp->Three-Dot Menu->Settings->Account->Privacy->Read Receipts, untick the box.


11.  TURN OFF LAST SEEN FEATURE

For some or other reason you don’t want others to see when you were last online, then you can use this feature. Open Whatsapp->Three-Dot Menu->Setting->Privacy->Last seen, set it to nobody. After this nobody can able to see when you were last online.

Remember: By enabling this feature, you can’t able to see when others were last online.



12.  USE WHATSAPP ON YOUR PC

If you are more comfortable with a keyboard and full-size screen then, this feature is best for you. Type web.whatsapp.com on browser of your pc. Open Whatsapp->three-dot menu->whatsapp Web ->scan QR, now you are ready to go.


13.  UNSENT MESSAGES

Sometimes we send message to wrong person or even to wrong group chat by mistake, if you want to retract that message this feature is for you and there is time limit to use this feature is 4096 seconds. For this open person’s chat->mark the message->Trashcan icon->Delete for everyone.


14.  ENABLE LOCK ON WHATSAPP

Whatsapp has introduce its new feature. By using this you can protect your message and add privacy to your content. Open Whatsapp->three-dot menu->settings->Account->Privacy->Fingerprint Lock, by enabling this feature you can open only using fingerprint.


15.  HIDE WHATSAPP MEDIA FROM GALLERY

This feature is for those who receives lot of media related messages. Clustering of media files reduces space and also made difficulties in searching other stuffs. For not showing up in media in your gallery, open Whatsapp->three-dot Menu->Setting->Chats->Media visibility, disable that option.
